FUNDRAISING RUN: Legal Ladies put best foot forward for office hero!

Release date: 11th September 2001

The Close Thornton Ladies’ team came first in their category in the Darlington Run on August 12th and raised £150 for the Staithes RNLI station.

Their hero, Colin Harrison, a solicitor formerly with Close Thornton, the leading Darlington law firm, also ran. Earlier this year, Colin received a certificate for bravery from the RNLI for his part in the dramatic rescue of crew from a stricken vessel off the North East coast last year. The Helmsman, received the RNLI medal for bravery for leading the rescue.

"We decided to raise money for the RNLI because of Colin’s involvement with the organisation and his role in the recent rescue from Staithes."
said team leader, Emma Holmes.
"It’s the first time that I have done a run like this. There was a great atmosphere and it hardly felt like 10 kilometres at all! We are all really pleased to have been able to make a contribution to the RNLI station at Staithes."
