CASE STUDY: Accident at work – Mr P

Mr P had an accident at work. He lost several fingers from his left hand when his hand was sucked into a machine. The guard over the moving parts was missing and had been replaced with a piece of sack taped in place.

After this traumatic incident Mr P suffered a serious psychological reaction to his injuries which was diagnosed as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He underwent nearly 50 sessions of specialised counselling. Despite this however, he is unlikely ever to work again. This is certainly an unusual consequence of such a physical injury. With our help, Mr P received £200,000 in compensation.
