David has been with Close Thornton for over 40 years and is an Old Boy of the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Darlington.

He is a founder member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a former President of the Newton Aycliffe Rotary Club.

His personal interests include golf and DIY and he is an enthusiastic supporter of Sunderland FC. He also has a keen interest in narrow boats and can be regularly seen on the Ripon Canal!
